KG	Mondom tehát: Avagy elvetette-é Isten az ő népét? Távol legyen; mert én is izráelita vagyok, az Ábrahám magvából, Benjámin nemzetségéből való.
AS	I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

KG	Nem vetette el Isten az ő népét, melyet eleve ismert. Avagy nem tudjátok-é, mit mond az írás Illésről? amint könyörög Istenhez Izráel ellen, mondván:
AS	God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:
KJV	God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

KG	Uram, a te prófétáidat megölték, és a te oltáraidat lerombolták; és csak én egyedül maradtam, és engem is halálra keresnek.
AS	Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
KJV	Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

KG	De mit mond néki az isteni felelet? Meghagytam magamnak hétezer embert, akik nem hajtottak térdet a Baálnak.
AS	But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

KG	Ekképpen azért most is van maradék a kegyelemből való választás szerint.
AS	Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

KG	Hogyha pedig kegyelemből, akkor nem cselekedetekből: különben a kegyelem nem volna többé kegyelem. Hogyha pedig cselekedetekből, akkor nem kegyelemből: különben a cselekedet nem volna többé cselekedet.
AS	But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.

KG	Micsoda tehát? amit Izráel keres, azt nem nyerte meg: a választottak ellenben megnyerték, a többiek pedig megkeményíttettek:
AS	What then? that which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:

KG	Amint meg van írva: Az Isten kábultság lelkét adta nékik; szemeket, hogy ne lássanak, füleket, hogy ne halljanak, mind e mai napig.
AS	according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.

KG	Dávid is ezt mondja: Legyen az ő asztaluk tőrré, hálóvá, botránkozássá és megtorlássá.
AS	And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:

KG	Sötétüljenek meg az ő szemeik, hogy ne lássanak, és az ő hátokat mindenkorra görbítsd meg.
AS	Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, And bow thou down their back always.
KJV	Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

KG	Annakokáért mondom: Avagy azért botlottak-é meg, hogy elessenek? Távol legyen; hanem az ő esetük folytán lett az idvesség a pogányoké, hogy ők felingereltessenek.
AS	I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation `is come' unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
KJV	I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

KG	Ha pedig az ő esetök világnak gazdagsága, és az ő veszteségök pogányok gazdagsága, mennyivel inkább az ő teljességök?
AS	Now if their fall, is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
KJV	Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

KG	Mert néktek mondom a pogányoknak, amennyiben hát én pogányok apostola vagyok, a szolgálatomat dicsőítem,
AS	But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;

KG	Ha ugyan felingerelhetném az én atyámfiait, és megtarthatnék közülök némelyeket.
AS	if by any means I may provoke to jealousy `them that are' my flesh, and may save some of them.
KJV	If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

KG	Mert ha az ő elvettetésök a világnak megbékélése, micsoda lesz a felvételök hanemha élet a halálból?
AS	For if the casting away of them `is' the reconciling of the world, what `shall' the receiving `of them be', but life from the dead?

KG	Ha pedig a zsenge szent, akkor a tészta is; és ha a gyökér szent, az ágak is azok.
AS	And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

KG	Ha pedig némely ágak kitörettek, te pedig vadolajfa létedre beoltattál azok közé, és részese lettél az olajfa gyökerének és zsírjának;
AS	But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;

KG	Ne kevélykedjél az ágak ellenében: ha pedig kevélykedel, nem te hordozod a gyökeret, hanem a gyökér téged.
AS	glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee.

KG	Azt mondod azért: Kitörettek az ágak, hogy én oltassam be.
AS	Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

KG	Úgy van; hitetlenség miatt törettek ki, te pedig hit által állasz; fel ne fuvalkodjál, hanem félj;
AS	Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

KG	Mert ha az Isten a természet szerint való ágaknak nem kedvezett, majd néked sem kedvez.
AS	for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee.

KG	Tekintsd meg azért az Istennek kegyességét és keménységét: azok iránt akik elestek, keménységét; irántad pedig a kegyességét, ha megmaradsz a kegyességben; különben te is kivágatol.
AS	Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God's goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

KG	Sőt azok is, ha meg nem maradnak a hitetlenségben, beoltatnak; mert az Isten ismét beolthatja őket.
AS	And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

KG	Mert ha te a természet szerint való vadolajfából kivágattál, és természet ellenére beoltattál a szelid olajfába: mennyivel inkább beoltatnak ezek a természet szerint valók az ő saját olajfájokba.
AS	For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural `branches', be grafted into their own olive tree?
KJV	For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

KG	Mert nem akarom, hogy ne tudjátok atyámfiai ezt a titkot, hogy magatokat el ne higyjétek, hogy a megkeményedés Izráelre nézve csak részben történt, ameddig a pogányok teljessége bemegyen.
AS	For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;

KG	És ez nékik az én szövetségem, midőn eltörlöm az ő bűneiket.

KG	Az evangyéliomra nézve ugyan ellenségek ti érettetek; de a választásra nézve szerelmetesek az atyákért.
AS	As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake.
KJV	As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

KG	Mert megbánhatatlanok az Istennek ajándékai és az ő elhívása.
AS	For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of.

KG	Mert miképpen ti egykor engedetlenkedtetek az Istennek, most pedig irgalmasságot nyertetek az ő engedetlenségök miatt:
AS	For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
KJV	For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

KG	Azonképpen ők is most engedetlenkedtek, hogy a ti irgalmasságba jutásotok folytán ők is irgalmasságot nyerjenek;
AS	even so have these also now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy.
KJV	Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

KG	Mert az Isten mindeneket engedetlenség alá rekesztett, hogy mindeneken könyörüljön.
AS	For God hath shut up all unto disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all.
KJV	For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

KG	Óh Isten gazdagságának, bölcseségének és tudományának mélysége! Mely igen kikutathatatlanok az ő ítéletei s kinyomozhatatlanok az ő útai!
AS	O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!

KG	Mert kicsoda ismerte meg az Úr értelmét? vagy kicsoda volt néki tanácsosa?
AS	For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

KG	Avagy kicsoda adott előbb néki, hogy annak visszafizesse azt?
AS	or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

KG	Mert ő tőle, ő általa és ő reá nézve vannak mindenek. Övé a dicsőség mindörökké. Ámen.
AS	For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him `be' the glory for ever. Amen.
