AS	How long wilt thou speak these things? And `how long' shall the words of thy mouth be `like' a mighty wind?

KG	Elforgatja-é Isten az ítéletet, avagy a Mindenható elforgatja-é az igazságot?
AS	Doth God pervert justice? Or doth the Almighty pervert righteousness?
KJV	Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

KG	Ha a te fiaid vétkeztek ellene, úgy az ő gonoszságuk miatt vetette el őket.
AS	If thy children have sinned against him, And he hath delivered them into the hand of their transgression;
KJV	If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

KG	De ha te az Istent buzgón keresed, és a Mindenhatóhoz bocsánatért könyörögsz;
AS	If thou wouldest seek diligently unto God, And make thy supplication to the Almighty;
KJV	If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

KG	Ha tiszta és becsületes vagy, akkor legott felserken éretted, és békességessé teszi a te igazságodnak hajlékát.
AS	If thou wert pure and upright: Surely now he would awake for thee, And make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
KJV	If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

KG	És ha előbbi állapotod szegényes volt, ez utáni állapotod boldog lesz nagyon.
AS	And though thy beginning was small, Yet thy latter end would greatly increase.

KG	Mert kérdezd meg csak az azelőtti nemzedéket, és készülj csak fel az ő atyáikról való tudakozódásra!
AS	For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And apply thyself to that which their fathers have searched out:
KJV	For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

KG	Mert mi csak tegnapiak vagyunk és semmit nem tudunk, mert a mi napjaink csak árnyék e földön.
AS	(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, Because our days upon earth are a shadow);

KG	Nem tanítanak-é meg azok téged? Nem mondják-é meg néked, és nem beszélik-é meg szívök szerint néked?!
AS	Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, And utter words out of their heart?

KG	Felnövekedik-é a káka mocsár nélkül, felnyúlik-é a sás víz nélkül?
AS	Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the flag grow without water?

KG	Még gyenge korában, ha fel nem szakasztják is, minden fűnél elébb elszárad.
AS	Whilst it is yet in its greenness, `and' not cut down, It withereth before any `other' herb.

KG	Ilyenek az ösvényeik mindazoknak, akik Istenről elfeledkeznek, és a képmutatónak reménysége is elvész.
AS	So are the paths of all that forget God; And the hope of the godless man shall perish:

KG	Bő nedvességű ez a napfényen is, és ágazata túlnő a kertjén.
AS	He is green before the sun, And his shoots go forth over his garden.

KG	Gyökerei átfonódnak a kőhalmon; átfúródnak a szikla-rétegen.
AS	His roots are wrapped about the `stone' -heap, He beholdeth the place of stones.

KG	Ámha kiirtják helyéről, megtagadja ez őt: Nem láttalak!
AS	If he be destroyed from his place, Then it shall deny him, `saying', I have not seen thee.

KG	Ímé ez az ő pályájának öröme! És más hajt ki a porból.
AS	Behold, this is the joy of his way; And out of the earth shall others spring.

KG	Ímé az Isten nem veti meg az ártatlant, de a gonoszoknak sem ád előmenetelt.
AS	Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, Neither will he uphold the evil-doers.

KG	Még betölti szádat nevetéssel, és ajakidat vigassággal.
AS	He will yet fill thy mouth with laughter, And thy lips with shouting.

KG	Gyűlölőid szégyenbe öltöznek, és a gonoszok sátora megsemmisül.
AS	They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; And the tent of the wicked shall be no more.
