KG	Ímé sokakat oktattál, és a megfáradott kezeket megerősítetted;
AS	Behold, thou hast instructed many, And thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

KG	A tántorgót a te beszédeid fentartották, és a reszkető térdeket megerősítetted;
AS	Thy words have upholden him that was falling, And thou hast made firm the feeble knees.

KG	Most, hogy rád jött a sor, zokon veszed; hogy téged ért a baj, elrettensz!
AS	But now it is come unto thee, and thou faintest; It toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

KG	Nem bizodalmad-é a te istenfélelmed, s nem reménységed-é utaidnak becsületessége?
AS	Is not thy fear `of God' thy confidence, `And' the integrity of thy ways thy hope?
KJV	Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

KG	Emlékezzél, kérlek, ki az, aki elveszett ártatlanul, és hol töröltettek el az igazak?
AS	Remember, I pray thee, who `ever' perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?

KG	Amint én láttam, akik hamisságot szántanak és gonoszságot vetnek, ugyanazt aratnak.
AS	According as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, And sow trouble, reap the same.

KG	Az Istennek lehelletétől elvesznek, az ő haragjának szelétől elpusztulnak.
AS	By the breath of God they perish, And by the blast of his anger are they consumed.

KG	Az oroszlán ordítása, a sakál üvöltése, és az oroszlán-kölykök fogai megsemmisülnek.

KG	Az agg oroszlán elvész, ha nincs martaléka, a nőstény oroszlán kölykei elszélednek.

KG	Szó lopódzék hozzám, s valami nesz üté meg abból fülemet.

KG	Félelem szálla rám, és rettegés, s megreszketteté minden csontomat.

KG	Vajjon a halandó igaz-é Istennél: az ő teremtője előtt tiszta-é az ember?
AS	Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

KG	Ímé az ő szolgáiban sem bízhatik és az ő angyalaiban is talál hibát:
AS	Behold, he putteth no trust in his servants; And his angels he chargeth with folly:

KG	Mennyivel inkább a sárházak lakosaiban, akiknek fundamentumok a porban van, és könnyebben szétnyomhatók a molynál?!
AS	How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before the moth!

KG	Reggeltől estig gyötrődnek, s anélkül, hogy észrevennék, elvesznek örökre.
AS	Betwixt morning and evening they are destroyed: They perish for ever without any regarding it.

KG	Ha kiszakíttatik belőlök sátoruk kötele, nem halnak-é meg, és pedig bölcsesség nélkül?
AS	Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.
