KG	Az a nap legyen sötétség, ne törődjék azzal az Isten onnét felül, és világosság ne fényljék azon.

KG	Az az éjszaka! Sűrű sötétség fogja be azt; ne soroztassék az az esztendőnek napjaihoz, ne számláltassék a hónapokhoz.
AS	As for that night, let thick darkness seize upon it: Let it not rejoice among the days of the year; Let it not come into the number of the months.

KG	Az az éjszaka! Legyen az magtalan, ne legyen örvendezés azon.

KG	Sötétüljenek el az ő estvéjének csillagai; várja a világosságot, de az ne legyen, és ne lássa a hajnalnak pirját!

KG	Mert nem zárta be az én anyám méhének ajtait, és nem rejtette el szemeim elől a nyomorúságot.
AS	Because it shut not up the doors of my `mother's' womb, Nor hid trouble from mine eyes.

KG	Mért vettek fel engem térdre, és mért az emlőkre, hogy szopjam?!

KG	Mert most feküdném és nyugodnám, aludnám és akkor nyugton pihenhetnék -

KG	Királyokkal és az ország tanácsosaival, akik magoknak kőhalmokat építenek.
