KG	Várj még egy kevéssé, majd felvilágosítlak, mert az Istenért még van mit mondanom.
AS	Suffer me a little, and I will show thee; For I have yet somewhat to say on God's behalf.
KJV	Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

KG	Tudásomat messzünnen veszem, és az én teremtőmnek igazat adok.
AS	I will fetch my knowledge from afar, And will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
KJV	I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

KG	Mert az én beszédem bizonyára nem hazugság; tökéletes tudású ember áll melletted.
AS	For truly my words are not false: One that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
KJV	For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

KG	Ímé, az Isten hatalmas, még sem vet meg semmit; hatalmas az ő lelkének ereje.
AS	Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: He is mighty in strength of understanding.
KJV	Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

KG	Nem tartja meg a gonosznak életét, de a szegénynek igaz törvényt teszen.
AS	He preserveth not the life of the wicked, But giveth to the afflicted `their' right.
KJV	He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

KG	Nem veszi le az igazról szemeit, sőt a királyok mellé, a trónba ülteti őket örökre, hogy felmagasztaltassanak.
AS	He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: But with kings upon the throne He setteth them for ever, and they are exalted.
KJV	He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

KG	És ha békókba veretnek, és fogva tartatnak a nyomorúság kötelein:
AS	And if they be bound in fetters, And be taken in the cords of afflictions;
KJV	And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

KG	Tudtokra adja cselekedetöket, és vétkeiket, hogyha elhatalmaztak rajtok.
AS	Then he showeth them their work, And their transgressions, that they have behaved themselves proudly.
KJV	Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

KG	Megnyitja füleiket a feddőzésnek és megparancsolja, hogy a vétekből megtérjenek:
AS	He openeth also their ear to instruction, And commandeth that they return from iniquity.
KJV	He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

KG	Ha engednek és szolgálnak néki, napjaikat jóban végzik el, és az ő esztendeiket gyönyörűségekben.
AS	If they hearken and serve `him', They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.
KJV	If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

KG	Ha pedig nem engednek, fegyverrel veretnek által, és tudatlanságban múlnak ki.
AS	But if they hearken not, they shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge.
KJV	But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

KG	De az álnok szívűek haragot táplálnak, nem kiáltanak, mikor megkötözi őket.
AS	But they that are godless in heart lay up anger: They cry not for help when he bindeth them.
KJV	But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

KG	Azért ifjúságukban hal meg az ő lelkök, és életök a paráznákéhoz hasonló.
AS	They die in youth, And their life `perisheth' among the unclean.
KJV	They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

KG	A nyomorultat megszabadítja az ő nyomorúságától, és a szorongattatással megnyitja fülöket.
AS	He delivereth the afflicted by their affliction, And openeth their ear in oppression.
KJV	He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

KG	Téged is kiszabadítana az ínség torkából tág mezőre, ahol nincs szorultság, és asztalod étke kövérséggel lenne rakva;
AS	Yea, he would have allured thee out of distress Into a broad place, where there is no straitness; And that which is set on thy table would be full of fatness.
KJV	Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

KG	De ha gonosz ítélettel vagy tele, úgy utolérnek az ítélet és igazság.
AS	But thou art full of the judgment of the wicked: Judgment and justice take hold `on thee'.
KJV	But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

KG	Csakhogy a harag ne ragadjon téged csúfkodásra, és a nagy váltságdíj se tántorítson el.
AS	For let not wrath stir thee up against chastisements; Neither let the greatness of the ransom turn thee aside.
KJV	Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

KG	Ad-é valamit a te gazdagságodra? Sem aranyra, sem semmiféle erőfeszítésre!
AS	Will thy cry avail, `that thou be' not in distress, Or all the forces of `thy' strength?
KJV	Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

KG	Ne kívánjad az éjszakát, amely népeket mozdít ki helyökből.
AS	Desire not the night, When peoples are cut off in their place.
KJV	Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

KG	Vigyázz! ne pártolj a bűnhöz, noha azt a nyomorúságnál jobban szereted.
AS	Take heed, regard not iniquity: For this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

KG	Ímé, mily fenséges az Isten az ő erejében; kicsoda az, aki úgy tanítson, mint ő?
AS	Behold, God doeth loftily in his power: Who is a teacher like unto him?
KJV	Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

KG	Kicsoda szabta meg az ő útjait, vagy ki mondhatja azt: Igazságtalanságot cselekedtél?
AS	Who hath enjoined him his way? Or who can say, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
KJV	Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

KG	Legyen rá gondod, hogy magasztaljad az ő cselekedetét, amelyről énekelnek az emberek!
AS	Remember that thou magnify his work, Whereof men have sung.
KJV	Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

KG	Minden ember azt szemléli; a halandó távolról is látja.
AS	All men have looked thereon; Man beholdeth it afar off.
KJV	Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

KG	Ímé, az Isten fenséges, mi nem ismerhetjük őt! esztendeinek száma sem nyomozható ki.
AS	Behold, God is great, and we know him not; The number of his years is unsearchable.
KJV	Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

KG	Hogyha magához szívja a vízcseppeket, ködéből mint eső cseperegnek alá,
AS	For he draweth up the drops of water, Which distil in rain from his vapor,
KJV	For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

KG	Amelyet a fellegek özönnel öntenek, és hullatnak le temérdek emberre.
AS	Which the skies pour down And drop upon man abundantly.
KJV	Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

KG	De sőt értheti-é valaki a felhő szétoszlását, az ő sátorának zúgását?
AS	Yea, can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, The thunderings of his pavilion?
KJV	Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

KG	Ímé, szétterjeszti magára az ő világosságát, és ráborítja a tengernek gyökereit.
AS	Behold, he spreadeth his light around him; And he covereth the bottom of the sea.
KJV	Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

KG	Mert ezek által ítéli meg a népeket, ád eledelt bőségesen.
AS	For by these he judgeth the peoples; He giveth food in abundance.
KJV	For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

KG	Kezeit elborítja villámlással, és kirendeli a lázadó ellen.
AS	He covereth his hands with the lightning, And giveth it a charge that it strike the mark.
KJV	With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

KG	Az ő dörgése ad hírt felőle, mint a barom a közeledő viharról.
AS	The noise thereof telleth concerning him, The cattle also concerning `the storm' that cometh up.
KJV	The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

KG	Ezért remeg az én szívem, és csaknem kiszökik helyéből.
