KG	Jób pedig folytatá az ő beszédét, és monda:
AS	And Job again took up his parable, and said,

KG	Oh, vajha olyan volnék, mint a hajdani hónapokban, amikor Isten őrzött engem!

KG	Mikor az ő szövétneke fénylett fejem fölött, s világánál jártam a setétet;
AS	When his lamp shined upon my head, And by his light I walked through darkness;

KG	Amint java-korom napjaiban valék, amikor Isten gondossága borult sátoromra!
AS	As I was in the ripeness of my days, When the friendship of God was upon my tent;

KG	Mikor még a Mindenható velem volt, és körültem voltak gyermekeim;
AS	When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were about me;

KG	Mikor lábaimat édes tejben mostam, és mellettem a szikla olajpatakokat ontott;
AS	When my steps were washed with butter, And the rock poured me out streams of oil!

KG	Mikor a kapuhoz mentem, fel a városon; a köztéren székemet fölállítám:
AS	When I went forth to the gate unto the city, When I prepared my seat in the street,

KG	Ha megláttak az ifjak, félrevonultak, az öregek is fölkeltek és állottak.

KG	A fejedelmek abbahagyták a beszédet, és tenyeröket szájukra tették.

KG	A főemberek szava elnémult, és nyelvök az ínyökhöz ragadt.

KG	Mert amely fül hallott, boldognak mondott engem, és amely szem látott, bizonyságot tett én felőlem.
AS	For when the ear heard `me', then it blessed me; And when the eye saw `me', it gave witness unto me:

KG	Mert megmentém a kiáltozó szegényt, és az árvát, akinek nem volt segítsége.

KG	Az álnoknak zápfogait kitördösém, és fogai közül a prédát kiütém vala.
AS	And I brake the jaws of the unrighteous, And plucked the prey out of his teeth.
