KG	Jób pedig folytatá az ő beszédét, és monda:
AS	And Job again took up his parable, and said,

AS	As God liveth, who hath taken away my right, And the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul:

KG	Hogy mindaddig, amíg az én lelkem én bennem van, és az Istennek lehellete van az én orromban;
AS	(For my life is yet whole in me, And the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
KJV	All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

KG	Az én ajakim nem szólnak álnokságot, és az én nyelvem nem mond csalárdságot!
AS	Surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness, Neither shall my tongue utter deceit.
KJV	My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

KG	Távol legyen tőlem, hogy igazat adjak néktek! Amíg lelkemet ki nem lehelem, ártatlanságomból magamat ki nem tagadom.
AS	Far be it from me that I should justify you: Till I die I will not put away mine integrity from me.
KJV	God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

KG	Igazságomhoz ragaszkodom, róla le nem mondok; napjaim miatt nem korhol az én szívem.
AS	My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: My heart shall not reproach `me' so long as I live.

KG	Ellenségem lesz olyan, mint a gonosz, és aki ellenem támad, mint az álnok.
AS	Let mine enemy be as the wicked, And let him that riseth up against me be as the unrighteous.

KG	Mert micsoda reménysége lehet a képmutatónak, hogy telhetetlenkedett, ha az Isten mégis elragadja az ő lelkét?
AS	For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, When God taketh away his soul?
KJV	For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

KG	Meghallja-é kiáltását az Isten, ha eljő a nyomorúság reá?
AS	Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?
KJV	Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?

KG	Vajjon gyönyörködhetik-é a Mindenhatóban; segítségül hívhatja-é mindenkor az Istent?
AS	Will he delight himself in the Almighty, And call upon God at all times?
KJV	Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

KG	Megtanítlak benneteket Isten dolgaira; amik a Mindenhatónál vannak, nem titkolom el.
AS	I will teach you concerning the hand of God; That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

KG	Ímé, ti is mindnyájan látjátok: miért van hát, hogy hiábavalósággal hivalkodtok?!
AS	Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; Why then are ye become altogether vain?

KG	Ez a gonosz embernek osztályrésze Istentől, és a kegyetlenek öröksége a Mindenhatótól, amelyet elvesznek:
AS	This is the portion of a wicked man with God, And the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty:

KG	Ha megsokasulnak is az ő fiai, a kardnak sokasulnak meg, és az ő magzatai nem lakhatnak jól kenyérrel sem.
AS	If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword; And his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

KG	Az ő maradékai dögvész miatt temettetnek el, és az ő özvegyeik meg sem siratják.
AS	Those that remain of him shall be buried in death, And his widows shall make no lamentation.

KG	Ha mint a port, úgy halmozná is össze az ezüstöt, és úgy szerezné is össze ruháit, mint a sarat:
AS	Though he heap up silver as the dust, And prepare raiment as the clay;

KG	Összeszerezheti ugyan, de az igaz ruházza magára, az ezüstön pedig az ártatlan osztozik.
AS	He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, And the innocent shall divide the silver.

KG	Házát pók módjára építette föl, és olyanná, mint a csősz-csinálta kunyhó.
AS	He buildeth his house as the moth, And as a booth which the keeper maketh.

KG	Gazdagon fekszik le, mert nincsen kifosztva; felnyitja szemeit és semmije sincsen.
AS	He lieth down rich, but he shall not be gathered `to his fathers'; He openeth his eyes, and he is not.

KG	Meglepi őt, mint az árvíz, a félelem, éjjel ragadja el a zivatar.
AS	Terrors overtake him like waters; A tempest stealeth him away in the night.

KG	Felkapja őt a keleti szél és elviszi, elragadja őt helyéről.
AS	The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; And it sweepeth him out of his place.

KG	Nyilakat szór reá és nem kiméli; futva kell futnia keze elől.
AS	For `God' shall hurl at him, and not spare: He would fain flee out of his hand.

KG	Csapkodják felette kezeiket, és kisüvöltik őt az ő lakhelyéből.
AS	Men shall clap their hands at him, And shall hiss him out of his place.
