KG	És amint eltávozék, láta egy embert, aki születésétől fogva vak vala.
AS	And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth.

KG	És kérdezék őt a tanítványai, mondván: Mester, ki vétkezett, ez-é vagy ennek szülei, hogy vakon született?
AS	And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?
KJV	And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

KG	Felele Jézus: Sem ez nem vétkezett, sem ennek szülei; hanem, hogy nyilvánvalókká legyenek benne az Isten dolgai.
AS	Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
KJV	Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

KG	Nékem cselekednem kell annak dolgait, aki elküldött engem, amíg nappal van: eljő az éjszaka, mikor senki sem munkálkodhatik.
AS	We must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

KG	Míg e világon vagyok, e világ világossága vagyok.
AS	When I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

KG	Ezeket mondván, a földre köpe, és az ő nyálából sárt csinála, és rákené a sarat a vak szemeire,
AS	When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay,

KG	És monda néki: Menj el, mosakodjál meg a Siloám tavában (ami azt jelenti: Küldött). Elméne azért és megmosakodék, és megjöve látva.
AS	and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent). He went away therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

KG	A szomszédok azért, és akik azelőtt látták azt, hogy vak vala, mondának: Nem ez-é az, aki itt szokott ülni és koldulni?
AS	The neighbors therefore, and they that saw him aforetime, that he was a beggar, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
KJV	The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

KG	Némelyek azt mondák, hogy: Ez az; mások pedig, hogy: Hasonlít hozzá. Ő azt mondá, hogy: Én vagyok az.
AS	Others said, It is he: others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am `he'.
KJV	Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

KG	Mondának azért néki: Mimódon nyiltak meg a te szemeid?
AS	They said therefore unto him, How then were thine eyes opened?
KJV	Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

KG	Felele az és monda: Egy ember, akit Jézusnak mondanak, sarat készíte és rákené a szemeimre, és monda nékem: Menj el a Siloám tavára és mosódjál meg; miután pedig elmenék és megmosakodám, megjöve látásom.
AS	He answered, The man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to Siloam, and wash: so I went away and washed, and I received sight.
KJV	He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.

KG	Mondának azért néki: Hol van az? Monda: Nem tudom.
AS	And they said unto him, Where is he? He saith, I know not.
KJV	Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.

KG	Vivék őt, aki előbb még vak volt, a farizeusokhoz.
AS	They bring to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.

KG	Mikor pedig Jézus a sarat csinálá és felnyitá ennek szemeit, szombat vala.
AS	Now it was the sabbath on the day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

KG	Szintén a farizeusok is megkérdezék azért őt, mimódon jött meg a látása? Ő pedig monda nékik: Sarat tőn szemeimre, és megmosakodám, és látok.
AS	Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. And he said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and I see.
KJV	Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

KG	Mondának azért némelyek a farizeusok közül: Ez az ember nincsen Istentől, mert nem tartja meg a szombatot. Mások mondának: Mimódon tehet bűnös ember ilyen jeleket? És hasonlás lőn közöttük.
AS	Some therefore of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. But others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs? And there was division among them.
KJV	Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

KG	Újra mondának a vaknak: Te mit szólsz ő róla, hogy megnyitá a szemeidet? Ő pedig monda: Hogy próféta.
AS	They say therefore unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, in that he opened thine eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.

KG	Nem hivék azért a zsidók róla, hogy vak vala és megjöve a látása, mígnem előhívák annak szüleit, akinek megjöve a látása,
AS	The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,

KG	És megkérdezék azokat, mondván: Ez a ti fiatok, akiről azt mondjátok, hogy vakon született? mimódon lát hát most?

KG	De mimódon lát most, nem tudjuk; vagy ki nyitotta meg a szemeit, mi nem tudjuk: elég idős már ő; őt kérdezzétek; ő beszéljen magáról.
AS	but how he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not: ask him; he is of age; he shall speak for himself.
KJV	But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

KG	Ezeket mondák annak szülei, mivelhogy félnek vala a zsidóktól: mert megegyeztek már a zsidók, hogy ha valaki Krisztusnak vallja őt, rekesztessék ki a gyülekezetből.
AS	These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him `to be' Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

KG	Ezért mondák annak szülei, hogy: Elég idős, őt kérdezzétek.
AS	Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

KG	Másodszor is szólíták azért az embert, aki vak vala, és mondának néki: Adj dicsőséget az Istennek; mi tudjuk, hogy ez az ember bűnös.
AS	So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner.
KJV	Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

KG	Felele azért az és monda: Ha bűnös-é, nem tudom: egyet tudok, hogy noha vak voltam, most látok.
AS	He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
KJV	He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

KG	Újra mondák pedig néki: Mit csinált veled? Mimódon nyitotta meg a szemeidet?
AS	They said therefore unto him, What did he to thee? How opened he thine eyes?
KJV	Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?

KG	Felele nékik: Már mondám néktek és nem hallátok: miért akarjátok újra hallani? avagy ti is az ő tanítványai akartok lenni?
AS	He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?
KJV	He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?

KG	Szidalmazák azért őt és mondának: Te vagy annak a tanítványa; mi pedig a Mózes tanítványai vagyunk.
AS	And they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.
KJV	Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

KG	Mi tudjuk, hogy Mózessel beszélt az Isten: erről pedig azt sem tudjuk, honnan való.
AS	We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.

KG	Felele az ember és monda nékik: Bizony csodálatos az, hogy ti nem tudjátok honnan való, és az én szemeimet megnyitotta.
AS	The man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is the marvel, that ye know not whence he is, and `yet' he opened mine eyes.
KJV	The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

KG	Pedig tudjuk, hogy az Isten nem hallgatja meg a bűnösöket; hanem ha valaki istenfélő, és az ő akaratát cselekszi, azt hallgatja meg.
AS	We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and do his will, him he heareth.
KJV	Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

KG	Öröktől fogva nem hallaték, hogy vakon szülöttnek szemeit valaki megnyitotta volna.
AS	Since the world began it was never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind.
KJV	Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.

KG	Ha ez nem Istentől volna, semmit sem cselekedhetnék.
AS	If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.

KG	Felelének és mondának néki: Te mindenestől bűnben születtél, és te tanítasz minket? És kiveték őt.
AS	They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

KG	Meghallá Jézus, hogy kiveték azt; és találkozván vele, monda néki: Hiszel-é te az Isten Fiában?
AS	Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
KJV	Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

KG	Felele az és monda: Ki az, Uram, hogy higyjek benne?
AS	He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?

KG	Monda pedig néki Jézus: Láttad is őt, és aki beszél veled, az az.
AS	Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and he it is that speaketh with thee.
KJV	And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

KG	Az pedig monda: Hiszek, Uram. És imádá Őt.
AS	And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
KJV	And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

KG	És monda Jézus: Ítélet végett jöttem én e világra, hogy akik nem látnak, lássanak; és akik látnak, vakok legyenek.
AS	And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.
KJV	And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

KG	És hallák ezeket némely farizeusok, akik vele valának, és mondának néki: Avagy mi is vakok vagyunk-é?
AS	Those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said unto him, Are we also blind?
KJV	And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

KG	Monda nékik Jézus: Ha vakok volnátok, nem volna bűnötök; ámde azt mondjátok, hogy látunk: azért a ti bűnötök megmarad.
AS	Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye would have no sin: but now ye say, We see: your sin remaineth.
