KG	Tudván, hogy a ti hiteteknek megpróbáltatása kitartást szerez.

KG	A kitartásban pedig tökéletes cselekedet legyen, hogy tökéletesek és épek legyetek minden fogyatkozás nélkül.
AS	And let patience have `its' perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

KG	Ha pedig valakinek közületek nincsen bölcsessége, kérje Istentől, aki mindenkinek készségesen és szemrehányás nélkül adja; és megadatik néki.
AS	But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

KG	De kérje hittel, semmit sem kételkedvén: mert aki kételkedik, hasonlatos a tenger habjához, amelyet a szél hajt és ide s tova hány.

KG	Mert ne vélje az ilyen ember, hogy kaphat valamit az Úrtól;
AS	For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord;

KG	A kétszívű, a minden útjában állhatatlan ember.
AS	a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.
KJV	A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

KG	Dicsekedjék pedig az alacsony sorsú atyafi az ő nagyságával;
AS	But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:
KJV	Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

KG	A gazdag pedig az ő alacsonyságával: mert elmúlik, mint a fűnek virága.
AS	and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

KG	Mert felkél a nap az ő hévségével, és megszárítja a füvet; és annak virága elhull, és ábrázatának kedvessége elvész: így hervad el a gazdag is az ő útaiban.
AS	For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass: and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.

KG	Senki se mondja, mikor kísértetik: Az Istentől kísértetem: mert az Isten gonoszsággal nem kísérthető, ő maga pedig senkit sem kísért.
AS	Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:

KG	Hanem mindenki kísértetik, amikor vonja és édesgeti a tulajdon kívánsága.

KG	Minden jó adomány és minden tökéletes ajándék felülről való, és a világosságok Atyjától száll alá, akinél nincs változás, vagy változásnak árnyéka.
AS	Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

KG	Az ő akarata szült minket az igazságnak ígéje által, hogy az ő teremtményeinek valami zsengéje legyünk.

KG	Elvetvén azért minden undokságot és a gonoszságnak sokaságát, szelídséggel fogadjátok a beoltott ígét, amely megtarthatja a ti lelkeiteket.
AS	Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

KG	De aki belenéz a szabadság tökéletes törvényébe és megmarad amellett, az nem feledékeny hallgató, sőt cselekedet követője lévén, az boldog lesz az ő cselekedetében.
AS	But he that looketh into the perfect law, the `law' of liberty, and `so' continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.

KG	Ha valaki istentisztelőnek látszik köztetek, de nem zabolázza meg nyelvét, sőt megcsalja a maga szívét, annak az istentisztelete hiábavaló.
AS	If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man's religion is vain.

KG	Tiszta és szeplő nélkül való istentisztelet az Isten és az Atya előtt ez: meglátogatni az árvákat és özvegyeket az ő nyomorúságukban, és szeplő nélkül megtartani magát e világtól.
