KG	Vala pedig a farizeusok közt egy ember, a neve Nikodémus, a zsidók főembere:
KJV	There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

KG	Ez jöve Jézushoz éjjel, és monda néki: Mester, tudjuk, hogy Istentől jöttél tanítóul; mert senki sem teheti e jeleket, amelyeket te teszel, hanem ha az Isten van vele.
KJV	The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

KG	Felele Jézus és monda néki: Bizony, bizony mondom néked: ha valaki újonnan nem születik, nem láthatja az Isten országát.
KJV	Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

KG	Monda néki Nikodémus: Mimódon születhetik az ember, ha vén? Vajjon bemehet-é az ő anyjának méhébe másodszor, és születhetik-é?
KJV	Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

KG	Felele Jézus: Bizony, bizony mondom néked: Ha valaki nem születik víztől és Lélektől, nem mehet be az Isten országába.
KJV	Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

KG	Ami testtől született, test az; és ami Lélektől született, lélek az.
KJV	That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

KG	Ne csodáld, hogy azt mondám néked: Szükség néktek újonnan születnetek.
KJV	Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

KG	A szél fú, ahová akar, és annak zúgását hallod, de nem tudod honnan jő és hová megy: így van mindenki, aki Lélektől született.
KJV	The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

KG	Felele Nikodémus és monda néki: Mimódon lehetnek ezek?
KJV	Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

KG	Felele Jézus és monda néki: Te Izráel tanítója vagy, és nem tudod ezeket?
KJV	Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

KG	Bizony, bizony mondom néked, amit tudunk, azt mondjuk, és amit látunk, arról teszünk bizonyságot; és a mi bizonyságtételünket el nem fogadjátok.
KJV	Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

KG	Ha a földiekről szóltam néktek és nem hisztek, mimódon hisztek, ha a mennyeiekről szólok néktek?
KJV	If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

KG	És senki sem ment fel a mennybe, hanemha az, aki a mennyből szállott alá, az embernek Fia, aki a mennyben van.
KJV	And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

KG	És amiképpen felemelte Mózes a kígyót a pusztában, akképpen kell az ember Fiának felemeltetnie.
KJV	And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

KG	Hogy valaki hiszen ő benne, el ne vesszen, hanem örök élete legyen.
KJV	That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

KG	Mert úgy szerette Isten e világot, hogy az ő egyszülött Fiát adta, hogy valaki hiszen ő benne, el ne vesszen, hanem örök élete legyen.
KJV	For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

KG	Mert nem azért küldte az Isten az ő Fiát a világra, hogy kárhoztassa a világot, hanem hogy megtartassék a világ általa.
KJV	For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

KG	Aki hiszen ő benne, el nem kárhozik; aki pedig nem hisz, immár elkárhozott, mivelhogy nem hitt az Isten egyszülött Fiának nevében.
KJV	He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

KG	Ez pedig a kárhoztatás, hogy a világosság e világra jött, és az emberek inkább szerették a sötétséget, mint a világosságot; mert az ő cselekedeteik gonoszak valának.
KJV	And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

KG	Mert minden, aki hamisan cselekszik, gyűlöli a világosságot és nem megy a világosságra, hogy az ő cselekedetei fel ne fedessenek;
KJV	For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

KG	Aki pedig az igazságot cselekszi, az a világosságra megy, hogy az ő cselekedetei nyilvánvalókká legyenek, hogy Isten szerint való cselekedetek.
KJV	But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

KG	Ezután elméne Jézus az ő tanítványaival a Júdea földére; és ott időzék velök, és keresztele.
KJV	After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

KG	János pedig szintén keresztel vala Énonban, Sálemhez közel, mert ott sok volt a víz. És oda járulának és megkeresztelkedének.
KJV	And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

KG	Mert János még nem vetteték a tömlöcbe.
KJV	For John was not yet cast into prison.

KG	Vetekedés támada azért a János tanítványai és a judeaiak között a mosakodás felől.
KJV	Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

KG	És menének Jánoshoz és mondának néki: Mester! Aki veled vala a Jordánon túl, akiről te bizonyságot tettél, ímé az keresztel, és hozzá megy mindenki.
KJV	And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

KG	Felele János és monda: Az ember semmit sem vehet, hanem ha a mennyből adatott néki.
KJV	John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

KG	Ti magatok vagytok a bizonyságaim, hogy megmondtam: Nem vagyok én a Krisztus, hanem hogy ő előtte küldettem el.
KJV	Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

KG	Akinek jegyese van, vőlegény az; a vőlegény barátja pedig, aki ott áll és hallja őt, örvendezve örül a vőlegény szavának. Ez az én örömem immár betelt.
KJV	He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

KG	Annak növekednie kell, nékem pedig alább szállanom.
KJV	He must increase, but I must decrease.

KG	Aki felülről jött, feljebb való mindenkinél. Aki a földről való, földi az és földieket szól; aki a mennyből jött, feljebb való mindenkinél.
KJV	He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

KG	És arról tesz bizonyságot, amit látott és hallott; és az ő bizonyságtételét senki sem fogadja be.
KJV	And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

KG	Aki az ő bizonyságtételét befogadja, az megpecsételte, hogy az Isten igaz.
KJV	He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

KG	Mert akit az Isten küldött, az Isten beszédeit szólja; mivelhogy az Isten nem mérték szerint adja a Lelket.
KJV	For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

KG	Az Atya szereti a Fiút, és az ő kezébe adott mindent.
KJV	The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

KG	Aki hisz a Fiúban, örök élete van; aki pedig nem enged a Fiúnak, nem lát életet, hanem az Isten haragja marad rajta.
KJV	He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
