KG	Vala pedig Cézáreában egy Kornélius nevű férfiú, százados az úgynevezett itáliai seregből.
KJV	There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

KG	Jámbor és istenfélő egész házanépével egybe, ki sok alamizsnát osztogat vala a népnek, és szüntelen könyörög vala Istennek.
KJV	A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

KG	Ez látá látásban világosan, a napnak mintegy kilencedik órája körül, hogy az Istennek angyala beméne őhozzá, és monda néki: Kornélius!
KJV	He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

KG	Ő pedig szemeit reá függesztve és megrémülve monda: Mi az, Uram? Az pedig monda néki: A te könyörgéseid és alamizsnáid felmentek Isten elébe emlékezetnek okáért.
KJV	And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

KG	Most azért küldj Joppéba embereket, és hivasd magadhoz Simont, ki neveztetik Péternek;
KJV	And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

KG	Ő egy Simon nevű tímárnál van szálláson, kinek háza a tenger mellett van. Ő megmondja néked, mit kell cselekedned.
KJV	He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

KG	Amint pedig elment az angyal, aki Kornéliussal beszélt, szólíta kettőt az ő szolgái közül, és egy kegyes vitézt azok közül, kik rendelkezésére állnak vala.
KJV	And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

KG	És elmondván nékik mindent, elküldé őket Joppéba.
KJV	And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

KG	Másnap pedig, míg azok menének és közelgetének a városhoz, felméne Péter a háznak felső részére imádkozni hat óra tájban.
KJV	On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

KG	Megéhezék azonban, és akara enni: míg azonban azok ételt készítének, szálla ő reá elragadtatás;
KJV	And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

KG	És látá, hogy az ég megnyilt és leszálla ő hozzá valami edény, mint egy nagy lepedő, négy sarkánál fogva felkötve, és leeresztve a földre:
KJV	And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

KG	Melyben valának mindenféle földi négylábú állatok, vadak, csúszómászó állatok és égi madarak.
KJV	Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

KG	És szózat lőn ő hozzá: Kelj fel Péter, öljed és egyél!
KJV	And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

KG	Péter pedig monda: Semmiképpen sem, Uram; mert sohasem ettem semmi közönségest, vagy tisztátalant.
KJV	But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

KG	És ismét szózat lőn ő hozzá másodszor is: Amiket az Isten megtisztított, te ne mondd tisztátalanoknak.
KJV	And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

KG	Ez pedig három ízben történt; és ismét felviteték az edény az égbe.
KJV	This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

KG	Amint pedig Péter magában tünődék, mi lehet az a látás, amelyet látott, ímé az férfiak, kiket Kornélius küldött, megtudakozván a Simon házát, odaérkezének a kapuhoz,
KJV	Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

KG	És bekiáltván megtudakozák, vajjon Simon, ki neveztetik Péternek, ott van-é szálláson?
KJV	And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

KG	És amíg Péter a látás felől gondolkodék, monda néki a Lélek: Ímé három férfiú keres téged:
KJV	While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

KG	Nosza kelj fel, eredj alá, és minden kételkedés nélkül menj el ő velök: mert én küldöttem őket.
KJV	Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

KG	Alámenvén azért Péter a férfiakhoz, kiket Kornélius küldött ő hozzá, monda: Ímé, én vagyok, akit kerestek: mi dolog az, amiért jöttetek?
KJV	Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

KG	Ők pedig mondának: Kornélius százados, igaz és istenfélő férfiú, ki mellett a zsidók egész népe jó bizonyságot tesz, szent angyal által megintetett, hogy hívasson téged házához, és halljon tőled valami dolgokról.
KJV	And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

KG	Behíván azért őket, szállására fogadá. Másnap pedig elméne Péter ő velök, és a Joppébeli atyafiak közül is némelyek együtt menének ő vele.
KJV	Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

KG	És másnap eljutának Cézáreába. Kornélius pedig várja vala őket, egybegyűjtvén rokonait és jó barátait.
KJV	And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

KG	És lőn, hogy amint Péter beméne, Kornélius elébe menvén, lábaihoz borulva imádá őt.
KJV	And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

KG	Péter azonban felemelé őt, mondván: Kelj fel; én magam is ember vagyok.
KJV	But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

KG	És beszélgetve vele, belépett, és talála sokakat egybegyűlve;
KJV	And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

KG	És monda nékik: Ti tudjátok, hogy tilalmas zsidó embernek más nemzetbelivel barátkozni, vagy hozzámenni; de nékem az Isten megmutatá, hogy senkit se mondjak közönséges, vagy tisztátalan embernek:
KJV	And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

KG	Annak okáért ellenmondás nélkül el is jöttem, miután meghívattam. Azt kérdem azért, mi okból hivattatok engem?
KJV	Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

KG	És Kornélius monda: Negyednaptól fogva mind ez óráig bőjtöltem, és kilenc órakor imádkozám az én házamban; és ímé egy férfiú álla meg előttem fényes ruhában,
KJV	And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

KG	És monda: Kornélius, meghallgattatott a te imádságod, és a te alamizsnáid emlékezetbe jutottak Isten előtt.
KJV	And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

KG	Küldj el azért Joppéba, és hívasd magadhoz Simont, ki Péternek neveztetik; ez Simon tímár házában van szálláson a tenger mellett: ő, minekutána eljő, szól néked.
KJV	Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

KG	Azonnal azért küldöttem hozzád; és te jól tetted, hogy eljöttél. Most azért mi mindnyájan az Isten előtt állunk, hogy meghallgassuk mindazokat, amiket Isten néked parancsolt.
KJV	Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

KG	Péter pedig megnyitván száját, monda: Bizonynyal látom, hogy nem személyválogató az Isten;
KJV	Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

KG	Hanem minden nemzetben kedves ő előtte, aki őt féli és igazságot cselekszik.
KJV	But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

KG	Azt az ígét, melyet elkülde az Izráel fiainak, hirdetvén békességet a Jézus Krisztus által (ő mindeneknek Ura).
KJV	The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

KG	Ti ismeritek azt a dolgot, mely lőn az egész Júdeában, Galileától kezdve, az után a keresztség után, melyet János prédikált,
KJV	That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

KG	A názáreti Jézust, mint kené fel őt az Isten Szent Lélekkel és hatalommal, ki széjjeljárt jót tévén és meggyógyítván mindeneket, kik az ördög hatalma alatt voltak; mert az Isten vala ő vele.
KJV	How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

KG	És mi vagyunk bizonyságai mindazoknak, amiket mind a zsidóknak tartományában, mind Jeruzsálemben cselekedett; akit megölének, fára feszítvén.
KJV	And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

KG	Ezt az Isten feltámasztá harmadnapon, és megadá, hogy ő megjelenjék nyilván,
KJV	Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

KG	Nem az egész népnek, hanem az Istentől eleve választott bizonyságoknak, nékünk, kik együtt ettünk és együtt ittunk ő vele, minekutána feltámadott halottaiból.
KJV	Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

KG	És megparancsolta nékünk, hogy hirdessük a népnek, és tegyünk bizonyságot, hogy ő az Istentől rendelt bírája élőknek és holtaknak.
KJV	And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

KG	Erről a próféták mind bizonyságot tesznek, hogy bűneinek bocsánatját veszi az ő neve által mindenki, aki hiszen ő benne.
KJV	To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

KG	Mikor még szólá Péter ez ígéket, leszálla a Szent Lélek mindazokra, akik hallgatják vala e beszédet.
KJV	While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

KG	És elálmélkodának a zsidóságból való hívek, mindazok, akik Péterrel együtt mentek, hogy a pogányokra is kitöltetett a Szent Lélek ajándéka.
KJV	And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

KG	Mert hallják vala, hogy ők nyelveken szólnak és magasztalják az Istent. Akkor felele Péter:
KJV	For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

KG	Vajjon eltilthatja-é valaki a vizet, hogy ezek meg ne keresztelkedjenek, kik vették a Szent Lelket miképpen mi is?
KJV	Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

KG	És parancsolá, hogy keresztelkedjenek meg az Úrnak nevében. Akkor kérék őt, hogy maradjon náluk néhány napig.
KJV	And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
