AS	Suffer me, and I also will speak; And after that I have spoken, mock on.

KG	Avagy én embernek panaszolkodom-é? Miért ne volna hát keserű a lelkem?
AS	As for me, is my complaint to man? And why should I not be impatient?

KG	Tekintsetek reám és álmélkodjatok el, és tegyétek kezeteket szátokra.
AS	Mark me, and be astonished, And lay your hand upon your mouth.

KG	Ha visszaemlékezem, mindjárt felháborodom, és reszketés fogja el testemet.
AS	Even when I remember I am troubled, And horror taketh hold on my flesh.

KG	Mi az oka, hogy a gonoszok élnek, vénséget érnek, sőt még meg is gyarapodnak?
AS	Wherefore do the wicked live, Become old, yea, wax mighty in power?

KG	Az ő magvok előttök nő fel ő velök, és az ő sarjadékuk szemeik előtt.
AS	Their seed is established with them in their sight, And their offspring before their eyes.

KG	Házok békességes a félelemtől, és az Isten vesszeje nincsen ő rajtok.

KG	Kieresztik, mint nyájat, kisdedeiket, és ugrándoznak az ő magzataik.

KG	Dobot és hárfát ragadnak, és örvendeznek a síp zengésének.
AS	They sing to the timbrel and harp, And rejoice at the sound of the pipe.

KG	Jóllétben töltik el napjaikat, és egy pillanat alatt szállnak alá a sírba;
AS	They spend their days in prosperity, And in a moment they go down to Sheol.

KG	Noha azt mondják Istennek: Távozzál el tőlünk, mert a te utaidnak tudásában nem gyönyörködünk!
AS	And they say unto God, Depart from us; For we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.

KG	Micsoda a Mindenható, hogy tiszteljük őt, és mit nyerünk vele, ha esedezünk előtte?
AS	What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?

KG	Mindazáltal az ő javok nincsen hatalmukban, azért a gonoszok tanácsa távol legyen tőlem!
AS	Lo, their prosperity is not in their hand: The counsel of the wicked is far from me.

KG	Hányszor aluszik el a gonoszok szövétneke, és jő rájok az ő veszedelmök! Hányszor osztogatja részöket haragjában.
AS	How oft is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? That their calamity cometh upon them? That `God' distributeth sorrows in his anger?
KJV	How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.

KG	Olyanok lesznek, mint a pozdorja a szél előtt, és mint a polyva, amelyet forgószél ragad el.
AS	That they are as stubble before the wind, And as chaff that the storm carrieth away?

KG	Isten az ő fiai számára tartja fenn annak büntetését. Megfizet néki, hogy megérzi majd.
AS	`Ye say', God layeth up his iniquity for his children. Let him recompense it unto himself, that he may know it:

KG	Maga látja meg a maga veszedelmét, és a Mindenható haragjából iszik.
AS	Let his own eyes see his destruction, And let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

KG	Mert mi gondja van néki házanépére halála után, ha az ő hónapjainak száma letelt?!
AS	For what careth he for his house after him, When the number of his months is cut off?
KJV	For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?

KG	Ki taníthatja Istent bölcseségre, hisz ő ítéli meg a magasságban levőket is!
AS	Shall any teach God knowledge, Seeing he judgeth those that are high?

KG	Ez meghal az ő teljes boldogságában, egészen megelégedetten és nyugodtan;
AS	One dieth in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and quiet:

KG	Fejőedényei tejjel vannak tele, csontjainak velője nedvességtől árad.
AS	His pails are full of milk, And the marrow of his bones is moistened.

KG	Amaz elkeseredett lélekkel hal meg, mert nem élhetett a jóval.
AS	And another dieth in bitterness of soul, And never tasteth of good.

KG	Együtt feküsznek a porban, és féreg lepi őket.
AS	They lie down alike in the dust, And the worm covereth them.

KG	Ímé, jól tudom a ti gondolatitokat és a hamisságokat, amelyekkel méltatlankodtok ellenem;
AS	Behold, I know your thoughts, And the devices wherewith ye would wrong me.
KJV	Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.

KG	Mert ezt mondjátok: Hol van ama főembernek háza, hol van a gonoszok lakozásának sátora?
AS	For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent wherein the wicked dwelt?

KG	Avagy nem kérdeztétek-é meg azokat, akik sokat utaznak és jeleiket nem ismeritek-é?
AS	Have ye not asked wayfaring men? And do ye not know their evidences,
KJV	Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,

KG	Bizony a veszedelemnek napján elrejtetik a gonosz, a haragnak napján kiszabadul.
AS	That the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity? That they are led forth to the day of wrath?
KJV	That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

KG	Kicsoda veti szemére az ő útját, és amit cselekedett, kicsoda fizet meg néki azért?
AS	Who shall declare his way to his face? And who shall repay him what he hath done?

KG	Még ha a sírba vitetik is ki, a sírdomb felett is él.
AS	Yet shall he be borne to the grave, And men shall keep watch over the tomb.

KG	Édesek lesznek néki a sírnak hantjai, és maga után vonsz minden embert, amint számtalanok mentek el előtte.
AS	The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, And all men shall draw after him, As there were innumerable before him.

KG	Hogyan vigasztalnátok hát engem hiábavalósággal? Feleselésetek igazságtalanság marad.
AS	How then comfort ye me in vain, Seeing in your answers there remaineth `only' falsehood?
