KJV	And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

KG	Kegyelem néktek és békesség Istentől, a mi Atyánktól, és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól.
KJV	Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

KG	Hálát adok az én Istenemnek mindenkor, emlegetvén téged az én imádságaimban,
KJV	I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

KG	Mert hallom a te szeretetedet és ama te hitedet, mely van benned az Úr Jézushoz, és minden szentek irányában,
KJV	Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

KG	Hogy a te hitedben való közösség hathatós legyen, a Krisztus ügyében, minden bennetek levő jónak megismerése által.
KJV	That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

KG	Mert sok örömünk és vígasztalásunk van a te szeretetedben, hogy a szenteknek szíveik megvídámodtak te általad, atyámfia.
KJV	For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

KG	Annakokáért jóllehet nagy bátorságom van a Krisztusban, megparancsolni néked azt, ami illendő,
KJV	Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

KG	A szeretetért inkább kérlek, ilyen lévén, mint Pál, a megvénhedett, most pedig foglya is a Jézus Krisztusnak;
KJV	Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

KG	Kérlek téged az én fiamért, akit fogságomban szűltem, Onésimusért,
KJV	I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

KG	Aki egykor tenéked haszontalan volt, most pedig mind néked, mind nékem nagyon hasznos,
KJV	Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

KG	Kit visszaküldöttem; te pedig őt, azaz az én szívemet, fogadd magadhoz!
KJV	Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

KG	Őt én magamnál akartam tartani, hogy te helyetted szolgáljon nékem az evangyéliomért szenvedett fogságomban;
KJV	Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

KG	De a te megkérdezésed nélkül semmit sem akartam cselekedni, hogy jótéteményed ne kényszerítésből, hanem szabad akaratból való legyen.
KJV	But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

KG	Mert talán azért vált meg tőled ideig-óráig, hogy őt, mint örökkévalót kapd vissza;
KJV	For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

KG	Nem úgy immár mint szolgát, hanem szolgánál nagyobbat, mint szeretett atyafit, kiváltképpen nékem, mennyivel inkább pedig néked, mind testben, mind az Úrban.
KJV	Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

KG	Azért, ha engem részestársadnak tartasz, úgy fogadd őt magadhoz, mint engemet.
KJV	If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

KG	Ha pedig valamit vétett ellened, avagy adós, ezt nekem róvd fel.
KJV	If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

KG	Én Pál írtam az én kezemmel, én megfizetem: hogy azt ne mondjam néked, hogy te magaddal is adós vagy ezen felül nékem.
KJV	I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

KG	Bizonyára, atyámfia, jótéteményt várnék tőled az Úrban: vídámítsd meg az én szívemet az Úrban!
KJV	Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

KG	Bízván a te engedelmességedben, így írtam néked, tudván, hogy annál, amit mondok, többet is fogsz cselekedni.
KJV	Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

KG	Egyúttal pedig készíts nékem szállást; mert reménylem, hogy a ti imádságaitokért néktek ajándékoztatom.
KJV	But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

KG	Köszönt téged Epafrás, az én fogolytársam a Krisztus Jézusban,
KJV	There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

KG	Továbbá Márk, Aristárkhus, Démás és Lukács, az én munkatársaim.
KJV	Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

KG	A mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusnak kegyelme legyen a ti lelketekkel!
