KG	És ezek után Galileában jár vala Jézus; mert nem akar vala Júdeában járni, mivelhogy azon igyekezének a Júdeabeliek, hogy őt megöljék.
KJV	After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

KG	Közel vala pedig a zsidók ünnepe, a sátoros ünnep.
KJV	Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

KG	Mondának azért néki az ő atyjafiai: Menj el innen, és térj Júdeába, hogy a te tanítványaid is lássák a te dolgaidat, amelyeket cselekszel.
KJV	His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

KG	Mert senki sem cselekszik titkon semmit, aki maga ismeretessé akar lenni. Ha ilyeneket cselekszel, mutasd meg magadat a világnak.
KJV	For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

KG	Mert az ő atyjafiai sem hivének benne.
KJV	For neither did his brethren believe in him.

KG	Monda azért nékik Jézus: Az én időm még nincs itt; a ti időtök pedig mindig készen van.
KJV	Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

KG	Titeket nem gyűlölhet a világ, de engem gyűlöl; mert én bizonyságot teszek felőle, hogy az ő cselekedetei gonoszak.
KJV	The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

KG	Ti menjetek fel erre az ünnepre: én még nem megyek fel erre az ünnepre; mert az én időm még nem tölt be.
KJV	Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.

KG	Ezeket mondván pedig nékik, marada Galileában.
KJV	When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

KG	Amint pedig felmenének az ő atyjafiai, akkor ő is felméne az ünnepre, nem nyilvánosan, hanem mintegy titkon.
KJV	But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

KG	A zsidók azért keresik vala őt az ünnepen, és mondának: Hol van ő?
KJV	Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

KG	És a sokaságban nagy zúgás vala ő miatta. Némelyek azt mondják vala, hogy jó ember; mások pedig azt mondják vala: Nem, hanem a népnek hitetője.
KJV	And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

KG	Mindamellett senki sem beszélt vala nyiltan ő felőle a zsidóktól való félelem miatt.
KJV	Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

KG	Már-már az ünnep közepén azonban felméne Jézus a templomba, és tanít vala.
KJV	Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

KG	És csodálkozának a zsidók, mondván: Mimódon tudja ez az írásokat, holott nem tanulta?!
KJV	And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

KG	Felele nékik Jézus és monda: Az én tudományom nem az enyém, hanem azé, aki küldött engem.
KJV	Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

KG	Ha valaki cselekedni akarja az ő akaratát, megismerheti e tudományról, vajjon Istentől van-é, vagy én magamtól szólok?
KJV	If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

KG	Aki magától szól, a maga dicsőségét keresi; aki pedig annak dicsőségét keresi, aki küldte őt, igaz az, és nincs abban hamisság.
KJV	He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

KG	Nem Mózes adta-é néktek a törvényt? és senki sem teljesíti közületek a törvényt. Miért akartok engem megölni?
KJV	Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

KG	Felele a sokaság és monda: Ördög van benned. Ki akar téged megölni?
KJV	The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

KG	Felele Jézus és monda nékik: Egy dolgot cselekvém, és mindnyájan csodáljátok.
KJV	Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

KG	Azért Mózes adta néktek a körülmetélkedést (nem mintha Mózestől való volna, hanem az atyáktól): és szombaton körülmetélitek az embert.
KJV	Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

KG	Ha körülmetélhető az ember szombaton, hogy a Mózes törvénye meg ne romoljon; én rám haragusztok-é, hogy egy embert egészen meggyógyítottam szombaton?
KJV	If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

KG	Ne ítéljetek a látszat után, hanem igaz ítélettel ítéljetek!
KJV	Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

KG	Mondának azért némelyek a jeruzsálemiek közül: Nem ez-é az, akit meg akarnak ölni?
KJV	Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

KG	És ímé nyiltan szól, és semmit sem szólnak néki. Talán bizony megismerték a főemberek, hogy bizony ez a Krisztus?
KJV	But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

KG	De jól tudjuk, honnan való ez; mikor pedig eljő a Krisztus, senki sem tudja, honnan való.
KJV	Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

KG	Kiálta azért Jézus a templomban, tanítván és mondván: Mind engem ismertek, mind azt tudjátok, honnan való vagyok; és én magamtól nem jöttem, de igaz az, aki engem elküldött, akit ti nem ismertek.
KJV	Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

KG	Én azonban ismerem őt, mert ő tőle vagyok, és ő küldött engem.
KJV	But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

KG	Akarják vala azért őt megfogni; de senki sem veté reá a kezét, mert nem jött még el az ő órája.
KJV	Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

KG	A sokaság közül pedig sokan hivének ő benne; és azt mondják vala, hogy: A Krisztus mikor eljő, tehet-é majd több csodát azoknál, amelyeket ez tett?
KJV	And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

KG	Meghallák a farizeusok, amint a sokaság ezeket suttogja vala felőle; és szolgákat küldének a farizeusok és a főpapok, hogy fogják meg őt.
KJV	The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

KG	Monda azért nékik Jézus: Egy kevés ideig még veletek vagyok, és majd ahhoz megyek, aki elküldött engem.
KJV	Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

KG	Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg, és ahol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda.
KJV	Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

KG	Mondának azért a zsidók magok között: Hová akar ez menni, hogy mi majd nem találjuk meg őt? Vajjon a görögök közé szóródottakhoz akar-é menni, és a görögöket tanítani?
KJV	Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

KG	Micsoda beszéd ez, amelyet monda: Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg; és ahol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda?
KJV	What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

KG	Az ünnep utolsó nagy napján pedig felálla Jézus és kiálta, mondván: Ha valaki szomjúhozik, jőjjön én hozzám, és igyék.
KJV	In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

KG	Aki hisz én bennem, amint az írás mondotta, élő víznek folyamai ömlenek annak belsejéből.
KJV	He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

KG	Ezt pedig mondja vala a Lélekről, amelyet veendők valának az ő benne hívők: mert még nem vala Szent Lélek; mivelhogy Jézus még nem dicsőítteték meg.
KJV	(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

KG	Sokan azért a sokaság közül, amint hallák e beszédet, ezt mondják vala: Bizonynyal ez ama Próféta.
KJV	Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

KG	Némelyek mondának: Ez a Krisztus. Mások pedig mondának: Csak nem Galileából jön el a Krisztus?
KJV	Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

KG	Nem az írás mondta-é, hogy a Dávid magvából, és Bethlehemből, ama városból jön el a Krisztus, ahol Dávid vala?
KJV	Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

KG	Hasonlás lőn azért ő miatta a sokaságban.
KJV	So there was a division among the people because of him.

KG	Némelyek pedig közülök akarják vala őt megfogni, de senki sem veté reá a kezét.
KJV	And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

KG	Elmenének azért a szolgák a főpapokhoz és farizeusokhoz; és mondának azok ő nékik: Miért nem hoztátok el őt?
KJV	Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

KG	Felelének a szolgák: Soha ember úgy nem szólott, mint ez az ember!
KJV	The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

KG	Felelének azért nékik a farizeusok: Vajjon ti is el vagytok-é hitetve?
KJV	Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

KG	Vajjon a főemberek vagy a farizeusok közül hitt-é benne valaki?
KJV	Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

KG	De ez a sokaság, amely nem ismeri a törvényt, átkozott!
KJV	But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

KG	Monda nékik Nikodémus, aki éjjel ment vala ő hozzá, aki egy vala azok közül:
KJV	Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

KG	Vajjon a mi törvényünk kárhoztatja-é az embert, ha előbb ki nem hallgatja és nem tudja, hogy mit cselekszik?
KJV	Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

KG	Felelének és mondának néki: Vajjon te is Galileus vagy-é? Tudakozódjál és lásd meg, hogy Galileából nem támadt próféta.
KJV	They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

KG	És mindnyájan haza menének.
KJV	And every man went unto his own house.
