KG	Ezek után ünnepök vala a zsidóknak, és felméne Jézus Jeruzsálembe.
KJV	After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

KG	Van pedig Jeruzsálemben a Juhkapunál egy tó, amelyet héberül Bethesdának neveznek. Öt tornáca van.
KJV	Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

KG	Ezekben feküvék a betegek, vakok, sánták, aszkórosok nagy sokasága, várva a víznek megmozdulását.
KJV	In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

KG	Mert időnként angyal szálla a tóra, és felzavará a vizet: aki tehát először lépett bele a víz felzavarása után, meggyógyult, akárminémű betegségben volt.
KJV	For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

KG	Vala pedig ott egy ember, aki harmincnyolc esztendőt töltött betegségében.
KJV	And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

KG	Ezt amint látta Jézus, hogy ott fekszik, és megtudta, hogy már sok idő óta úgy van; monda néki: Akarsz-é meggyógyulni?
KJV	When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

KG	Felele néki a beteg: Uram, nincs emberem, hogy amikor a víz felzavarodik, bevigyen engem a tóba; és mire én oda érek, más lép be előttem.
KJV	The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

KG	Monda néki Jézus: Kelj fel, vedd fel a te nyoszolyádat, és járj!
KJV	Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

KG	És azonnal meggyógyula az ember, és felvevé nyoszolyáját, és jár vala. Aznap pedig szombat vala.
KJV	And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

KG	Mondának azért a zsidók a meggyógyultnak: Szombat van, nem szabad néked a nyoszolyádat hordanod!
KJV	The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

KG	Felele nékik: Aki meggyógyított engem, az mondá nékem: Vedd fel a nyoszolyádat, és járj.
KJV	He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

KG	Megkérdék azért őt: Ki az az ember, aki mondá néked: Vedd fel a nyoszolyádat, és járj?
KJV	Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

KG	A meggyógyult pedig nem tudja vala, hogy ki az; mert Jézus félre vonult, sokaság lévén azon a helyen.
KJV	And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

KG	Ezek után találkozék vele Jézus a templomban, és monda néki: Ímé meggyógyultál; többé ne vétkezzél, hogy rosszabbul ne legyen dolgod!
KJV	Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

KG	Elméne az az ember, és hírül adá a zsidóknak, hogy Jézus az, aki őt meggyógyította.
KJV	The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

KG	És e miatt üldözőbe vevék a zsidók Jézust, és meg akarák őt ölni, hogy ezeket művelte szombaton.
KJV	And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

KG	Jézus pedig felele nékik: Az én Atyám mind ez ideig munkálkodik, én is munkálkodom.
KJV	But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

KG	E miatt aztán még inkább meg akarák őt ölni a zsidók, mivel nem csak a szombatot rontotta meg, hanem az Istent is saját Atyjának mondotta, egyenlővé tévén magát az Istennel.
KJV	Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

KG	Felele azért Jézus, és monda nékik: Bizony, bizony mondom néktek: a Fiú semmit sem tehet önmagától, hanem ha látja cselekedni az Atyát, mert amiket az cselekszik, ugyanazokat hasonlatosképpen a Fiú is cselekszi.
KJV	Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

KG	Mert az Atya szereti a Fiút, és mindent megmutat néki, amiket ő maga cselekszik; és ezeknél nagyobb dolgokat is mutat majd néki, hogy ti csudálkozzatok.
KJV	For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

KG	Mert amint az Atya feltámasztja a halottakat és megeleveníti, úgy a Fiú is akiket akar, megelevenít.
KJV	For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

KG	Mert az Atya nem ítél senkit, hanem az ítéletet egészen a Fiúnak adta;
KJV	For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

KG	Hogy mindenki úgy tisztelje a Fiút, miként tisztelik az Atyát. Aki nem tiszteli a Fiút, nem tiszteli az Atyát, aki elküldte őt.
KJV	That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

KG	Bizony, bizony mondom néktek, hogy aki az én beszédemet hallja és hisz annak, aki engem elbocsátott, örök élete van; és nem megy a kárhozatra, hanem általment a halálból az életre.
KJV	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

KG	Bizony, bizony mondom néktek, hogy eljő az idő, és az most vagyon, mikor a halottak hallják az Isten Fiának szavát, és akik hallják, élnek.
KJV	Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

KG	Mert amiként az Atyának élete van önmagában, akként adta a Fiúnak is, hogy élete legyen önmagában:
KJV	For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

KG	És hatalmat ada néki az ítélettételre is, mivelhogy embernek fia.
KJV	And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

KG	Ne csodálkozzatok ezen: mert eljő az óra, amelyben mindazok, akik a koporsókban vannak, meghallják az ő szavát,
KJV	Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

KG	És kijőnek; akik a jót cselekedték, az élet feltámadására; akik pedig a gonoszt művelték, a kárhozat feltámadására.
KJV	And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

KG	Én semmit sem cselekedhetem magamtól; amint hallok, úgy ítélek, és az én ítéletem igazságos; mert nem a magam akaratát keresem, hanem annak akaratát, aki elküldött engem, az Atyáét.
KJV	I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

KG	Ha én teszek bizonyságot magamról, az én bizonyságtételem nem igaz.
KJV	If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

KG	Más az, aki bizonyságot tesz rólam; és tudom, hogy igaz az a bizonyságtétel, amelylyel bizonyságot tesz rólam.
KJV	There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

KG	Ti elküldtetek Jánoshoz, és bizonyságot tett az igazságról.
KJV	Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.

KG	De én nem embertől nyerem a bizonyságtételt; hanem ezeket azért mondom, hogy ti megtartassatok.
KJV	But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

KG	Ő az égő és fénylő szövétnek vala, ti pedig csak egy ideig akartatok örvendezni az ő világosságában.
KJV	He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

KG	De nékem nagyobb bizonyságom van a Jánosénál: mert azok a dolgok, amelyeket rám bízott az Atya, hogy elvégezzem azokat, azok a dolgok, amelyeket én cselekszem, tesznek bizonyságot rólam, hogy az Atya küldött engem.
KJV	But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

KG	Aki elküldött engem, maga az Atya is bizonyságot tett rólam. Sem hangját nem hallottátok soha, sem ábrázatát nem láttátok.
KJV	And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

KG	Az ő ígéje sincs maradandóan bennetek: mert akit ő elküldött, ti annak nem hisztek.
KJV	And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

KG	Tudakozzátok az írásokat, mert azt hiszitek, hogy azokban van a ti örök életetek; és ezek azok, amelyek bizonyságot tesznek rólam;
KJV	Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

KG	És nem akartok hozzám jőni, hogy életetek legyen!
KJV	And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

KG	Dicsőséget emberektől nem nyerek.
KJV	I receive not honour from men.

KG	De ismerlek benneteket, hogy az Istennek szeretete nincs meg bennetek:
KJV	But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

KG	Én az én Atyám nevében jöttem, és nem fogadtatok be engem; ha más jőne a maga nevében, azt befogadnátok.
KJV	I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

KG	Mimódon hihettek ti, akik egymástól nyertek dicsőséget, és azt a dicsőséget, amely az egy Istentől van, nem keresitek?
KJV	How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

KG	Ne állítsátok, hogy én vádollak majd benneteket az Atyánál; van aki vádol titeket, Mózes, akiben ti reménykedtetek.
KJV	Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

KG	Mert ha hinnétek Mózesnek, nékem is hinnétek; mert én rólam írt ő.
KJV	For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.

KG	Ha pedig az ő írásainak nem hisztek, mimódon hisztek az én beszédeimnek?
KJV	But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
