KG	Simon Péter, Jézus Krisztus szolgája és apostola, azoknak, akik velünk egyenlő drága hitet nyertek a mi Istenünknek és megtartónknak Jézus Krisztusnak igazságában:
KJV	Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

KG	Kegyelem és békesség adassék néktek bőségesen az Istennek és Jézusnak a mi Urunknak megismerésében.
KJV	Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

KG	Mivelhogy az ő isteni ereje mindennel megajándékozott minket, ami az életre és kegyességre való, Annak megismerése által, aki minket a saját dicsőségével és hatalmával elhívott;
KJV	According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

KG	Amelyek által igen nagy és becses ígéretekkel ajándékozott meg bennünket; hogy azok által isteni természet részeseivé legyetek, kikerülvén a romlottságot, amely a kívánságban van e világon.
KJV	Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

KG	Ugyanerre pedig teljes igyekezetet is fordítván, a ti hitetek mellé ragasszatok jó cselekedetet, a jó cselekedet mellé tudományt,
KJV	And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

KG	A tudomány mellé pedig mértékletességet, a mértékletesség mellé pedig tűrést, a tűrés mellé pedig kegyességet,
KJV	And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

KG	A kegyesség mellé pedig atyafiakhoz való hajlandóságot, az atyafiakhoz való hajlandóság mellé pedig szeretetet.
KJV	And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

KG	Mert ha ezek megvannak és gyarapodnak bennetek, nem tesznek titeket hivalkodókká, sem gyümölcstelenekké a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus megismerésére nézve.
KJV	For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

KG	Mert akiben ezek nincsenek meg, az vak, rövidlátó, elfelejtkezvén a régi bűneiből való megtisztulásáról.
KJV	But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

KG	Annakokáért, atyámfiai, igyekezzetek inkább a ti elhívatástokat és kiválasztatásotokat erőssé tenni; mert ha ezeket cselekszitek, nem ütköztök meg soha.
KJV	Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

KG	Mert ekképpen gazdagon adatik majd néktek a mi Urunknak és megtartónknak, a Jézus Krisztusnak örök országába való bemenetel.
KJV	For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

KG	Annakokáért nem mulasztom el, hogy mindenkor emlékeztesselek titeket ezekre, noha tudjátok ezeket, és erősek vagytok a jelenvaló igazságban.
KJV	Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

KG	Méltónak vélem pedig, amíg ebben a sátorban vagyok, hogy emlékeztetés által ébresztgesselek titeket;
KJV	Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

KG	Mint aki tudom, hogy hamar leteszem sátoromat, amiképpen a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus is megjelentette nékem.
KJV	Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

KG	De igyekezni fogok azon, hogy ti az én halálom után is mindenkor megemlékezhessetek ezekről.
KJV	Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

KG	Mert nem mesterkélt meséket követve ismertettük meg veletek a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus hatalmát és eljövetelét; hanem mint akik szemlélői voltunk az ő nagyságának.
KJV	For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

KG	Mert amikor az Atya Istentől azt a tisztességet és dicsőséget nyerte, hogy hozzá a felséges dicsőség ilyen szózata jutott: Ez az én szeretett Fiam, akiben én gyönyörködöm:
KJV	For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

KG	Ezt az égből jövő szózatot mi hallottuk, együtt lévén vele a szent hegyen.
KJV	And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

KG	És igen biztos nálunk a prófétai beszéd is, amelyre jól teszitek, ha figyelmeztek, mint sötét helyen világító szövétnekre, míg nappal virrad, és hajnalcsillag kél fel szívetekben;
KJV	We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

KG	Tudván először azt, hogy az írásban egy prófétai szó sem támad saját magyarázatból.
KJV	Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

KG	Mert sohasem ember akaratából származott a prófétai szó; hanem a Szent Lélektől indíttatva szólottak az Istennek szent emberei.
KJV	For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
