KG	Mikor pedig látta Bálám, hogy tetszik az Úrnak, hogy megáldja Izráelt, nem indula, mint az előtt, varázslatok után, hanem fordítá az ő orcáját a puszta felé.
AS	And when Balaam saw that it pleased Jehovah to bless Israel, he went not, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

KG	És mikor felemelte Bálám az ő szemeit, látá Izráelt, amint letelepedett az ő nemzetségei szerint; és Istennek lelke vala ő rajta.
AS	And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.

KG	Akkor elkezdé az ő példázó beszédét és monda: Bálámnak, Beór fiának szózata, a megnyílt szemű embernek szózata.

KG	Mily szépek a te sátoraid óh Jákób! a te hajlékaid óh Izráel!
AS	How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel!

KG	Mint kiterjesztett völgyek, mint kertek a folyóvíz mellett, mint az Úr plántálta áloék, mint cédrusfák a vizek mellett!
AS	As valleys are they spread forth, As gardens by the river-side, As lign-aloes which Jehovah hath planted, As cedar-trees beside the waters.

AS	God bringeth him forth out of Egypt; He hath as it were the strength of the wild-ox: He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, And shall break their bones in pieces, And smite `them' through with his arrows.

KG	És monda Bálám Báláknak: A te követeidnek is, akiket küldöttél volt hozzám, nem így szólottam-é, mondván:

KG	Ha Bálák az ő házát ezüsttel és aranynyal tele adná is nékem, az Úrnak beszédét által nem hághatom, hogy magamtól jót, vagy rosszat cselekedjem. Amit az Úr szól, azt szólom.
AS	If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of Jehovah, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; what Jehovah speaketh, that will I speak?

AS	I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not nigh: There shall come forth a star out of Jacob, And a sceptre shall rise out of Israel, And shall smite through the corners of Moab, And break down all the sons of tumult.

KG	És mikor látja vala a Keneust, elkezdé példázó beszédét, és monda: Erős a te lakhelyed, és sziklára raktad fészkedet;

KG	Mégis el fog pusztulni Kain; amíg Assur téged fogva viszen.
AS	Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, Until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

KG	Újra kezdé az ő példázó beszédét, és monda: Óh, ki fog élni még, amikor véghez viszi ezt az Isten?
AS	And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this?

KG	És Kittim partjairól hajók jőnek, és nyomorgatják Assúrt, nyomorgatják Ébert is, és ez is mindenestől elvész.
AS	But ships `shall come' from the coast of Kittim, And they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber; And he also shall come to destruction.

KG	Felkele azért Bálám, és elméne, hogy visszatérjen az ő helyére. És Bálák is elméne az ő útján.
AS	And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
