KG	Azt tettem pedig fel magamban, hogy nem megyek közétek ismét szomorúsággal.
AS	But I determined this for myself, that I would not come again to you with sorrow.

KG	Mert ha én megszomorítlak titeket, ugyan ki az, aki megvídámít engem, hanemha akit én megszomorítok?
AS	For if I make you sorry, who then is he that maketh me glad but he that is made sorry by me?
KJV	For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?

KG	És azért írtam néktek éppen azt, hogy mikor oda megyek, meg ne szomoríttassam azok miatt, akiknek örülnöm kellene; meg lévén győződve mindenitek felől, hogy az én örömöm mindnyájatoké.
AS	And I wrote this very thing, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is `the joy' of you all.
KJV	And I wrote this same unto you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.

KG	Mert sok szorongattatás és szívbeli háborgás között írtam néktek sok könyhullatással, nem hogy megszomoríttassatok, hanem hogy megismerjétek azt a szeretetet, amellyel kiváltképpen irántatok viseltetem.
AS	For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be made sorry, but that ye might know the love that I have more abundantly unto you.
KJV	For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

KG	Ha pedig valaki megszomorított, nem engem szomorított meg, hanem részben, hogy azt ne terheljem, titeket mindnyájatokat.
AS	But if any hath caused sorrow, he hath caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all.
KJV	But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.

KG	Elég az ilyennek a többség részéről való ilyen megbüntetése:
AS	Sufficient to such a one is this punishment which was `inflicted' by the many;
KJV	Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.

KG	Annyira, hogy éppen ellenkezőleg ti inkább bocsássatok meg néki és vígasztaljátok, hogy valamiképpen a felettébb való bánat meg ne eméssze az ilyet.
AS	so that contrariwise ye should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his overmuch sorrow.
KJV	So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

KG	Azért kérlek titeket, hogy tanusítsatok iránta szeretetet.
AS	Wherefore I beseech you to confirm `your' love toward him.
KJV	Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

KG	Mert azért írtam is, hogy bizonyosan megtudjam felőletek, ha mindenben engedelmesek vagytok-é?
AS	For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things.

KG	Akinek pedig megbocsáttok valamit, én is: mert ha én is megbocsátottam valamit, ha valakinek megbocsátottam, ti érettetek cselekedtem Krisztus színe előtt; hogy meg ne csaljon minket a Sátán:
AS	But to whom ye forgive anything, I `forgive' also: for what I also have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, for your sakes `have I forgiven it' in the presence of Christ;
KJV	To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

KG	Mert jól ismerjük az ő szándékait.
AS	that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
KJV	Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

KG	Mikor pedig Troásba mentem a Krisztus evangyélioma ügyében és kapu nyittatott nékem az Úrban, nem volt lelkemnek nyugodalma, mivelhogy nem találtam Titust, az én atyámfiát;
AS	Now when I came to Troas for the gospel of Christ, and when a door was opened unto me in the Lord,
KJV	Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,

KG	Hanem elbúcsúzván tőlük, elmentem Macedóniába.
AS	I had no relief for my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went forth into Macedonia.
KJV	I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

KG	Hála pedig az Istennek, aki mindenkor diadalra vezet minket a Krisztusban, és az ő ismeretének illatját minden helyen megjelenti mi általunk.
AS	But thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place.
KJV	Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

KG	Mert Krisztus jó illatja vagyunk Istennek, mind az üdvözülők, mind az elkárhozók között;
AS	For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish;
KJV	For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

KG	Ezeknek halál illatja halálra; amazoknak pedig élet illatja életre. És ezekre kicsoda alkalmatos?
AS	to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
KJV	To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

KG	Mert mi nem olyanok vagyunk, mint sokan, akik meghamisítják az Isten ígéjét; hanem tisztán, sőt szinte Istenből szólunk az Isten előtt a Krisztusban.
AS	For we are not as the many, corrupting the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, speak we in Christ.
