KG	Monda pedig az Isten Jákóbnak: Kelj fel, eredj fel Béthelbe és telepedjél le ott; és csinálj ott oltárt amaz Istennek, ki megjelenék néked, mikor a te bátyád Ézsaú előtt futsz vala.
KJV	And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

KG	Akkor monda Jákób az ő házanépének, és mind azoknak, kik vele valának: Hányjátok el az idegen isteneket, kik köztetek vannak, és tisztítsátok meg magatokat, és változtassátok el öltözeteiteket.
KJV	Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:

KG	És keljünk fel, és menjünk fel Béthelbe, hogy csináljak ott oltárt annak az Istennek, ki meghallgatott engem az én nyomorúságom napján, és velem volt az úton, amelyen jártam.
KJV	And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.

KG	Átadák azért Jákóbnak mind az idegen isteneket, kik nálok valának, és füleikből a függőket, és elásá azokat Jákób a cserfa alatt, mely Sekhem mellett vala.
KJV	And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

KG	És elindulának. De Istennek rettentése vala a körűltök való városokon, és nem üldözék a Jákób fiait.
KJV	And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

KG	Eljuta azért Jákób Lúzba, mely Kanaán földén van, azaz Béthelbe, ő maga és az egész sokaság, mely ő vele vala.
KJV	So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.

KG	És építe ott oltárt, és nevezé a helyet Él-Béthelnek, mivelhogy ott jelent meg néki az Isten, mikor az ő bátyja előtt fut vala.
KJV	And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

KG	És meghala Débora, a Rebeka dajkája, és eltemeték Béthelen alól egy cserfa alatt, és nevezék annak nevét Allon-Bákhutnak.
KJV	But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.

KG	Az Isten pedig ismét megjelenék Jákóbnak, mikor ez jöve Mésopotámiából, és megáldá őt.
KJV	And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.

KG	És monda néki az Isten: A te neved Jákób; de ne neveztessék többé a te neved Jákóbnak, hanem Izráel légyen neved. És nevezé nevét Izráelnek.
KJV	And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

KG	És monda néki az Isten: Én vagyok a mindenható Isten, nevekedjél és sokasodjál, nép és népek sokasága légyen te tőled; és királyok származzanak a te ágyékodból.
KJV	And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;

KG	És a földet, melyet adtam Ábrahámnak és Izsáknak, néked adom azt, utánad pedig a te magodnak adom a földet.
KJV	And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

KG	És felméne ő tőle az Isten azon a helyen, ahol vele szólott vala.
KJV	And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.

KG	Jákób pedig emlékoszlopot állíta azon a helyen, ahol szólott vele, kőoszlopot; és áldozék azon italáldozattal, és önte arra olajat.
KJV	And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

KG	És nevezé Jákób a hely nevét, ahol az Isten szólott vala ő vele, Béthelnek.
KJV	And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.

KG	És elindúlának Béthelből, s mikor Efratától, hogy oda érjenek, már csak egy dűlőföldre valának, szűle Rákhel, és nehéz vala az ő szűlése.
KJV	And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.

KG	S vajudása közben monda néki a bába: Ne félj, mert most is fiad lesz.
KJV	And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.

KG	És mikor lelke kiméne, mert meghala, nevezé nevét Benóninak, az atyja pedig nevezé őt Benjáminnak.
KJV	And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.

KG	És meghala Rákhel, és eltemetteték az Efratába (azaz Bethlehembe) vivő úton.
KJV	And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

KG	És emlékoszlopot állíta Jákób az ő sírja fölött. Rákhel sírjának emlékoszlopa az mind e mai napig.
KJV	And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.

KG	Azután tovább költözék Izráel, és a Héder tornyán túl voná fel sátorát.
KJV	And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.

KG	Lőn pedig, mikor Izráel azon a földön lakozék, elméne Rúben, és hála Bilhával, az ő atyjának ágyasával, s meghallá Izráel. Valának pedig a Jákób fiai tizenketten.
KJV	And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

KG	Lea fiai: Jákób elsőszülötte Rúben, azután Simeon, Lévi, Júda, Izsakhár és Zebulon.
KJV	The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:

KG	Rákhel fiai: József és Benjámin.
KJV	The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:

KG	A Rákhel szolgálójának Bilhának fiai: Dán és Nafthali.
KJV	And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:

KG	A Lea szolgálójának Zilpának fiai: Gád és Áser. Ezek a Jákób fiai, akik születtek néki Mésopotámiában.
KJV	And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram.

KG	És eljuta Jákób Izsákhoz, az ő atyjához Mamréba, Kirját-Arbába, azaz Hebronba, ahol Ábrahám és Izsák tartózkodnak vala.
KJV	And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arba, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

KG	Valának pedig Izsák napjai száz nyolcvan esztendő.
KJV	And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.

KG	És kimúlék Izsák és meghala, és takaríttaték az ő eleihez vén korban, bételvén az élettel; és eltemeték őt az ő fiai, Ézsaú és Jákób.
KJV	And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
