KG	És lőn az Úr beszéde hozzám, mondván:
KJV	And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

KG	Embernek fia! mire való a szőlőtőke fája egyéb fa között, a venyige, mely az erdő fái között van?
KJV	Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

KG	Avagy vesznek-é abból fát, hogy valami eszközt csináljanak belőle? avagy vesznek-é belőle szeget, hogy mindenféle edényt akasszanak reá?
KJV	Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

KG	Ímé a tűznek adatott, hogy megeméssze; két végét megemésztette már a tűz, és közepe megpörkölődött, vajjon való-é valami eszközre?
KJV	Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devoureth both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work?

KG	Ímé, míg ép vala, semmi eszközre nem vala jó; menynyivel kevésbbé csinálhatnak belőle valamit most, mikor a tűz megemésztette és megpörkölődött!
KJV	Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned?

KG	Azért így szól az Úr Isten: amint a szőlőtőke fáját az erdő fái közül a tűznek adtam megemésztésre, úgy adtam oda Jeruzsálem lakóit;
KJV	Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

KG	És ellenök fordítom arcomat. A tűzből jöttek ki és a tűz eméssze meg őket, és megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr, mikor arcomat ellenök fordítom.
KJV	And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them.

KG	És teszem a földet pusztasággá, mivelhogy elpártoltak tőlem, ezt mondja az Úr Isten.
KJV	And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD.
