KJV	And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

KG	Elsőszülött fiának pedig Joel volt a neve és a másodiknak Abia, kik Beérsebában bíráskodtak.
KJV	Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.

KG	De fiai nem járának az ő útjain, hanem a telhetetlenség után indulának, és ajándékot fogadának el, és elfordíták az igaz ítéletet.
KJV	And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

KG	Összegyűlének azért Izráelnek minden vénei, és elmentek Sámuelhez Rámába.
KJV	Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,

KG	És mondának néki: Ímé te megvénhedtél, és fiaid nem járnak útaidon; most azért válassz nékünk királyt, aki ítéljen felettünk, mint minden népnél szokás.
KJV	And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

KG	Azonban Sámuelnek nem tetszék a beszéd, hogy azt mondák: Adj nékünk királyt, aki ítéljen felettünk. És könyörge Sámuel az Úrhoz.
KJV	But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

KG	És monda az Úr Sámuelnek: Fogadd meg a nép szavát mindenben, amit mondanak néked, mert nem téged útáltak meg, hanem engem útáltak meg, hogy ne uralkodjam felettök.
KJV	And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

KG	Mindama cselekedetek szerint, amelyeket véghez vittek attól a naptól kezdve, amelyen kihoztam őket Égyiptomból, egészen a mai napig (hogy elhagytak engem, és idegen isteneknek szolgáltak): veled is aszerint cselekesznek.
KJV	According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

KG	Most azért hallgass szavukra; mindazáltal tégy ellenök bizonyságot, és add tudtokra a király hatalmát, aki uralkodni fog felettök.
KJV	Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

KG	És Sámuel megmondá az Úrnak minden beszédeit a népnek, mely tőle királyt kért.
KJV	And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.

KG	És monda: A királynak, aki uralkodni fog felettetek, ez lesz a hatalma: fiaitokat elveszi és szekér vezetőivé és lovasaivá teszi őket, és szekere előtt futnak.
KJV	And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

KG	Ezredesekké teendi őket, és hadnagyokká ötven ember felett; velök szántatja meg barázdáit, és velök végezteti aratását, készítteti hadi szerszámait és harci szekereihez az eszközöket.
KJV	And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

KG	Leányaitokat pedig elviszi kenőcskészítőknek, szakácsnéknak és sütőknek.
KJV	And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.

KG	Elveszi legjobb szántóföldeiteket, szőlőhegyeiteket és olajfás kerteiteket, és szolgáinak adja.
KJV	And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

KG	Veteményeiteket és szőlőiteket megdézsmálja, és főbb embereinek és szolgáinak adja.
KJV	And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

KG	Elveszi szolgáitokat, szolgálóitokat, legszebb ifjaitokat és szamaraitokat, és a maga dolgát végezteti azokkal.
KJV	And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.

KG	Barmaitokat megdézsmálja, és ti szolgái lesztek néki.
KJV	He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

KG	És panaszkodni fogtok annak idejében királyotok miatt, kit magatok választottatok, de az Úr nem fog meghallgatni akkor titeket.
KJV	And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

KG	A nép azonban nem akart Sámuel szavára hallgatni, és mondának: Nem! hanem király legyen felettünk.
KJV	Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;

KG	És mi is úgy legyünk, mint a többi népek, hogy királyunk ítéljen minket is, és előttünk járjon, és vezesse a mi harcainkat.
KJV	That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

KG	És miután Sámuel meghallgatta a népnek minden szavát, megmondta azokat az Úrnak.
KJV	And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.

KG	És monda az Úr Sámuelnek: Hallgass szavokra, és adj nékik királyt. És Sámuel monda Izráel férfiainak: Menjetek el haza, ki-ki az ő városába.
KJV	And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.
